Howard Schmidt, Former White House Cybersecurity Advisor, SAASPASS Chairman

SAASPASS Inc., the innovator of scan and proximity based sign-in, for seamless strong security, today announced the appointment of Howard Schmidt as Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors. Schmidt is the former cyber security advisor to Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, as well as having served as the Chief Security Officer for Microsoft Corporation and eBay. As Chairman of the Board, Schmidt will help SAASPASS become the de facto standard in strong, secure and seamless sign-in.

The single biggest source of system breaches trace back to compromised credentials and the weak link of username/passwords that are currently in use today, said Schmidt. The easiest way to thwart more than 90% of system breaches is to move to stronger authentication for all users, and SAASPASS provides the easiest and most seamless way to do so that I have seen to date, effectively killing the password as we know it in the process.”

“Schmidt has been known for his visionary opinions, advocating for a better framework for trust and identity, years before it was acknowledged by the market as a need,” said Sal Karatas, Co-Founder and CEO of SAASPASS. As the world becomes an ever more connected place, with billions of Internet of Things devices being added on top of websites and other online services that all need authentication, stronger security will be critical. SAASPASS provides seamless authentication that is inherently dynamic 2-Factor Authentication, on logins not only for websites, but also for devices, PCs and Macs, allowing for integration of all such services into on premise or in the cloud Active Directory setups.
